This study analyzed the creative reconstruction efforts led by a diverse range of organizations after the Kumamoto earthquake in the Aso region, Kyushu, Japan.
In addition, this study clarified the efforts of the residents and communities of the Aso region ranging from disaster relief to redevelopment of tourism and various reconstructive activities. -

日本の農業従事者における慢性的な運動器疾患に関する情報:総説 Reviewed

日本の農業においては高齢化と後継者不足が深刻になっている。その背景には、身体的負荷が高く、健康問題が生じていることも理由の1つになっている。本研究は、日本の農業従事者における慢性的な運動器疾患に関する実態の情報を明らかにすることを目的とした。
方法 日本の農業従事者における運動器疾患の発生状況に関する報告に関して、厚生労働省と農林水産省の各種統計や全国共済農業協同組合連合会における統計を調べた。また、同様に医中誌Webによる検索と、J-STAGEを介して日本農村医学会の雑誌を調査した。
結果 農作業中の死亡に至る事故や労働災害となる疾病はあったが、慢性の運動器疾患の有病率などの実態を示す統計資料はなかった。観察的疫学研究としての論文もなかった。これは農山間地域における研究論文中に含まれているためであり、職業としての農業従事者で層別したデータを抽出しなければならないことが示唆された。
考察 農業従事者において慢性の運動器疾患の情報の一元化と情報公開は、その予防・軽減のための教育啓発に繋がり、就農者数と国内生産量を維持する一助になると考えられた。 -

This study analyzed the creative reconstruction efforts led by a diverse range of organizations from the Kumamoto earthquake in the Aso region in chronological order. In addition, this study was aimed to clarify the efforts of the residents and communities of the Aso region ranging from disaster relief to tourism and various forms of exchange. These efforts utilized the unique human networks and organizations during the period for ensuring survival (10 days after the earthquake) and the period for securing living conditions (1 month after the earthquake) and also provided quick support where the government could not reach. Furthermore, we clarified how the unique efforts undertaken by each subject has made it easier to continue the relief effort and how they developed into tourism, exchange and disaster prevention education programs reviewing local communities. -

The study set the evaluation criteria based on the MEXT curriculum guideline called “Zest for Living”. It has become evident that, the knowledge based on the local historical experiences can be a good starting point for the reconstruction immediately after the Kumamoto earthquake. One of the educational effects of the program was, as it became clear that the local children are deeply interested in the wisdom and customs of reading and understanding nature. The program successfully raised children’s level of awareness from the classroom education of disaster prevention to regional disaster prevention in the three years it has been implemented. Furthermore, with the passage of time after the disaster, it has become apparent that the programs called ‘Prediction of Danger and Taking Independent Action’, which aims at recognizing dangers associated with various disasters and ‘Contributing to Society and Basics for Disaster Service Workers’ can also be implemented.

This study developed a disaster prevention education program for children who continued to live in the Aso area after the Kumamoto earthquake with the aim to enhance their disaster prevention capabilities and to help them take active roles in the reconstruction of the region. This study clarified the objectives, teaching materials, learning methods of the disaster risk prevention education program after the disaster, and clarified the educational effects of the program.

本研究では,熊本地震後の学習プログラムとして,阿蘇地域の火山や草原と人との関わり,加えて,自然と人との関わりに関連する伝承を取り入れ,復興に向けた地域への愛着,ならびに,防災意識の醸成を促すプログラム開発を試行した。その結果、地域の伝承や過去の防災を教育素材に実施したプログラムは,過去の災害を現代の地域特性に応じた防災への取組と関連づけて興味・関心を深めることが明らかとなった。

大学の地域貢献が求められている中、本研究では、東京農業大学収穫祭野菜等即売店が、学生を介した来場者と生産者をつなげる「出会いの場」「交流の場」になっていることに着目した。そこで、本研究では、収穫祭の野菜即売店で、購入者の特徴、ならびに商品の生産地の景観写真や地域産品のPOP等の情報提示や販売者(学生)との対話が、購入理由となるのかを、購入者へのアンケート調査から明らかにした。

「総合的な学習」は,平成20(2008)年の学校指導要綱の一部改訂により,「小学校では地域の人々の暮らし,伝統,文化等,地域や学校の特色に応じた課題について学習活動」が例示された。その中で、地域学習の教育支援体制として,地域に関わる多様な主体が,児童の地域学習を支えることは地域と学校でともに地域社会の未来を担う人材育成を図る上で重要であ そこで,本研究では,地域の公園づくりを課題とした小学校の地域学習プログラムの試行を通じて,小学校の立地する地域の大学・行政・専門アドバイザーの多様な主体が連携した地域学習教育の支援体制のあり方を考察した。

This study suggested a mentally considerate approach for educational methods of disaster prevention immediately after the earthquake disasters, incorporating the learnings of local historical experience. The education programs, based on the disaster situation, were planned in cooperation with the locals and the elementary and junior high school teachers. This educational program was accepted by both local children and teachers even half a year after the earthquake, and demonstrated successful educational effects in Knowledge and understanding of social event and local identity.

A Trial Environmental an Educational Program - Case Study at the Isehara Farmland of Tokyo University of Agriculture - Reviewed

In this research, faculty members and technical engineers from Tokyo University of Agriculture have conducted a trial environmental education program in cooperation with the teachers of the Seijo Kindergarten utilizing vegetable and fruit cultivation related educational research. Specifically, the objectives besides holding the actual educational event was to clarify the purpose of the educational program and to select the education materials for future use. As part of the environmental education program, children learned about the uses and effects of the plants Sevia, Lemongrass and Bassia Scoparia using their five senses. In addition, children were able to learn about the different cultivation methods and varieties of everyday vegetables and fruits that they encounter on a daily basis such as grapes, blueberries and cherry tomatoes. As a result of the program children were evidently able to improve their observation skills and comprehension skills by taking notes of their new discoveries, joys and impressions of everyday vegetables, while they learned about the wide varieties of vegetables and fruits of the Isehara Farmland and their cultivation methods. Meanwhile, as for the provision of the Isehara Farmland as a sustainable venue of environmental education, the establishment of an acceptance system and the securing of human resources remain as potential issues.

Transition of the Value of Grassland Landscapes for the Last 80 Years since the Designation of Aso- National Park Reviewed

This study outlines the landscape transition of the grasslands since the designation as a national park through a literature research between socioeconomic change and the state of the natural environment in Aso National Park, and lists up the various values(Agriculture and Tourism, Conservation)of Aso’s grasslands and their landscape quality. As the result, the transition of the value of grassland Landscapes changed from the designation as a national park is divided into the following 5 stages. Stage 1: Promotion to attract the designation of Aso National Park as a national park and its opening. Stage 2: Development of livestock industry and increasing tourism value of the grasslands.Stage 3: Declining livestock industry and national movement toward environmental protection.Stage 4: Ecological crises of the grasslands and various people’s growing motivation of participation in grassland management.Stage 5: Conservation and revitalization of Aso’s grasslands. As a result of the above, there is a difference in the value of the grasslands at each stage.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the landscape perception of children who live in Satoyama area which locate in city suburb, where there are a few landscape perception researches have done. The research resource is recommended landscape and recommended reason of local school students, which was selected through "Kisawa-Hakkei selecting project" in Kisawa district, Hiratsuka city. We extract viewed elements and viewing spots from recommended landscape, and landscape perception types from recommend reasons. As a result, three trends were found. (1)The landscape of Satoyama and farmland were almost not
selected, even though the Satoyama can be seen from many spots and there are a lot of farmlands in Kisawa district.(2)The children select landscape as seen from the place which is relevant to their living environment.(3)There are not only a landscape perception type that epithet the viewing spots like "beautiful", but also various perception types, for example, the type that express their own
mentality like "become cheerful (by seeing the recommend landscape)". -

In this research, the undergraduate students of the Faculty of Regional Environment Science
in Tokyo University of Agriculture conducted the development of environmental education programs
utilizing the play grounds of Seijo Kindergarten in accordance with age groups of 1st, 2nd and 3rd
grades, in cooperation with teachers of the kindergarten. As a result, the postgraduate students made a meaningful contribution to the development of environmental education programs and learning materials
aiming at the cultivation of children's ability to observe and understand nature. Discussions between
undergraduate students and teachers ensured the incorporation of teachers' educational know-hows to
bring out children's expression ability and creativity into environmental education programs.
This enabled the students to have an advanced approach to develop age and ability appropriate programs.
The educational effects of environmental education programs were shown in children's communication ability to build up human relationship through the application of the ability to consider and express, motivated by the interest in nature, and the communication experience with undergraduate students. -
