本研究では、先行研究が本格的に取り組んでいないクラーク以外の農学校教師へも着目した米国調査を実施し、札幌農学校のモデルである米国の農学教育のルーツがドイツの学問系統に繋がることの実証を試みた。その際これまで先行研究の国別モデルではなく、学統モデルを試論として提示した。
