植物成長促進活性と抗植物病原菌活性を併せ持つTrichoderma cremeum由来の10員環ラクトン化合物cremenolideについて、NMRの再解析と量子化学計算および合成により構造を検証した。この結果当初提唱された構造は誤りであり、正しい構造を決定することに成功した。またcremenolideの初の全合成に成功した。

食用キノコ類であるホコリタケに含まれるアミノ酸lycoperdic acidの効率的合成法を確立した。この方法を用いて天然型の(+)-体を合成するとともに、非天然型の(-)-lycoperdic acidの合成に初めて成功した。本研究によりlycoperdic acidの生物活性を解明する足掛かりを構築することができた。
