Iodidomonas sp. Q-1株由来のマルチ銅オキシダ-ゼは、I-をI2に酸化する。I-をメディエーターとして本酵素を利用することで、様々な色素や染色工場の実廃液を脱色できることが示された。さらに、本脱色システムは、市販の糸状菌由来酵素よりも効果的であることが分かった。
