イネ第5染色体動原体のゲノム塩基配列を決定した。組換えが抑制されている動原体隣接領域は2.14Mbあり、この中の長腕側、短腕側にそれぞれ28個および45個の遺伝子の存在を予測した。この領域の転写産物のレベルと量をシーケンス解析で求めたところ、長腕側に比べて短腕側の方が有意に低いことが示された。
