<p>Aloe plants, which have medicinal properties, can be significantly valuable plants with high cash-ability. 2007, a new aloe species, <i>Aloe djiboutiensis</i>, was recorded in Djibouti, East Africa. This aloe species is used as a medicinal plant in Djibouti. However, the health benefits of the Aloe remain unclear since it has not been examined what kind of chemical components are contained. To evaluate the usability of the Aloe in Djibouti, further studies focused on bioactive components and their related biological activity was needed. In this study, the antioxidant activity of the aloe extracts was examined. For the next, screening of phenolic compounds of <i>A. djiboutiensis</i> was conducted by using LC-MS system. As a result, antioxidant activity was recognized in the extracts obtained from <i>A. d.</i>, but the levels were not remarkable compared to reference materials. On the other hand, it was revealed that some bioactive compounds (Aloin A, Aloin B, and Isoaloeresin D) are contained in <i>A. djiboutiensis</i>. These would be attractive points for the cultivation and marketing of this aloe plant at Djibouti in the future.</p>
